Neatly folded activewear capsule in neutral tones on a linen surface

The Activewear Capsule Wardrobe

The SOLARA Edit · 17 June 2026 · 7 min read

A capsule isn't about owning less. It's about owning pieces you would reach for without thinking. A practical edit for the activewear closet.

A capsule is a shortlist. Six to eight pieces that can generate two weeks of outfits without repeating exact combinations. For activewear, the frame is easier: what you need is a working set of neutrals in three categories: legging, bra, top.

The edit

  • Two pairs of sculpting leggings: one in black or liquorice, one in vanilla or oat
  • Two low-impact sports bras: in the same tonal range
  • One cropped studio top or tank
  • One long-sleeve layer for cooler classes
  • One pair of grip socks
  • One neutral outer layer (coat, cardigan or soft-shell jacket)

How to build it

Start with one legging in a neutral that pairs with everything already in your wardrobe. Add a bra in the same tonal family. Expand outwards only when you've worn the first two enough to know the fit.
