Choosing the Right Activewear Colour

Clementine Rhodes · 15 June 2026 · 5 min read

Every wardrobe has a default colour. A considered look at which neutral earns the first slot in your activewear rotation.

If you only own one activewear set, the colour decision matters more than any other. Each neutral carries a different set of assumptions: here's how to pick the one that works hardest for your week.

Black

Still the most practical. Reads as considered in any context; hides wear; pairs with everything. The right black has a matte finish: the wrong black has a blue-ish sheen that ages the fabric visually.

White & vanilla

Lighter and more editorial. Flatters in natural light, photographs well, and feels calmer than a brighter cream. Requires slightly more care; rewards slightly more attention.

Beige & oat

The quiet winner. Softer than black, less precious than white. Sits beautifully with denim, camel and cream: the colours most wardrobes default to outside the studio.
