Pilates Outfits for Winter

Winter in a heated studio asks for careful layering. Pieces that keep you warm on the walk in, and disappear once the class begins.
An Australian winter never asks for thermal everything. Most studios are heated to somewhere between sixteen and twenty degrees, and the first ten minutes of any class are genuinely cold. The right winter Pilates outfit layers up for the walk in, shelves cleanly once you're warm, and pulls back on for the walk home.
The base
A sculpting legging in a darker tone, liquorice, espresso, coffee, reads warmer than black in low winter light. Pair with a long-sleeve crop or a medium-support bra with a fuller neckline for a little more coverage through cooler transitions.
The mid-layer
A fine-knit merino crewneck or a soft-shoulder cardigan in oat or cream. Both shed easily when you warm up and read well in the change room without a coat.
The outer piece
A cropped wool coat, a quilted liner jacket, or a structured puffer in a neutral: keep the volume on the outside so the base layers don't compete. A small clean carry bag for socks, keys and a water bottle completes the set.
